5. Hyundai Kona N

At number 5 on our list is the Hyundai Kona N. Featuring the standard 2.0L MPI 4-cylinder engine, the Hyundai Kona N harvests 147 horsepower and 132Ib.-ft torque. This number 5 SUV on our list sustains a cool 23 combined MPG.

4. Lexus NX 350 AWD

Number 4 on our list is one of the Lexus models that’ll save you on gas! The Lexus NX 350 AWD’s standard 2.4L 4-cylinder turbo engine gathers 275 horsepower and 317Ib.-ft torque. This SUV delivers a nice 25 combined MPG.

3. Nissan Rogue Sport

In spot number 3 is the Nissan Rogue Sport. Featuring the standard 2.0L DOHC 16-valve 4-cylinder engine, the Nissan Rogue Sport holds 141 horsepower and 147Ib.-ft torque. Our number 3 SUV runs a competing 28 combined MPG with 25 city/23 highway.

…Now for the moment you’ve been waiting for, but maybe not the answer you’d expect. When it comes to our first place, most fuel efficient SUV on today’s market, we actually have 2 contenders. With the same combined MPG, but trading off a single mile in the city/highway battle, these 2 SUV’s are bound in place. First place. So, without further ado, ranking at number 1 on our fuel efficiency list are the Toyota RAV4 and the Honda CR-V FWD.

Tied for first on our list for most fuel efficient SUVs on the market today is the Toyota RAV4. With its standard 2.5L, 4 cylinder engine, the Toyota RAV4 slightly overpowers its counterpart at 203 horsepower and 184Ib.-ft torque. The RAV4 splits the win with 30 combined MPG, 27 city, 35 highway.

Sharing first place is the Honda CR-V FWD. With its standard 1.5L, 16-valve DOHC turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, the CR-V runs 190 horsepower and 179Ib.-ft torque. This Honda splits the win with 30 combined MPG, 28 city, 34 highway.
